Sandi, whose father was a career U.S. Air Force engineer, spent time in many places during her childhood.  In her high school years, the family settled in Ft. Worth, Texas.  She studied at Carleton College in Northfield, MN, before joining the Community of the Holy Spirit, an Episcopal convent in New York.  While in the convent, she finished her BA in Latin at Brooklyn College.  After leaving the Convent, she taught for two years, before enrolling in seminary at the Genearl Theological Seminary in New York.  Upon graduating with her MDic in 1975, she was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Ft. Worth.  As a deacon, she taught and served as chaplain at St. Clement's School in El Paso, Texas.  After the Episcopal Church changed the canons to allow the ordination of women as priests, Sandi was ordained a priest on April 25, 1977 by the Rt. Rev. Richard M. Trelease, Bishop of the Diocese of Rio Grande.  She then served for two years as a chaplain at New Mexico State University, before being called as the curate of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Ellsville, St. Louis County, MO.  In 1986, after more than six years at St. Martin's, she was called to be the vicar of St. Francis in the Fields, Zionsville.  During her tenure, the congregation grew in size, achieved parish status, and underwent two building projects.  She lives in the village of Zionsville with her mother, Donna.
