The Rev. Jesse Abell joined the staff of St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church on June 1, 2007. During his time at the parish, he has served as clergy assistant to the Rector. In addition to his parish duties, he serves the Ecumenical Officer for the Diocese of Indianapolis and is a member of the Episcopal Network for Animal Welfare and Episcopal Network for Science, Technology, and Faith. Additionally, he serves as the provincial secretary for the Society of Catholic Priests, a fraternal association of Episcopal priests who treasure the catholic tradition within our Anglican heritage.
He is a native of Indiana and grew up in the small town of Greensburg. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Indiana Wesleyan University and his MPhil in Psychology and Religion at the University of Cambridge. He attended seminary at the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Northern Indiana.
